Rajasthan Crime: Four members of the same family were brutally murdered and their remains were burned in their courtyard in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

The incident happened at 3 p.m. on Tuesday night, while the family was resting outside.

They were assaulted and murdered, their throats were slashed with a sharp blade. The assassins then dragged their bodies into the courtyard and set fire to them.

Poonaram (55), his wife Bhanwari (50), their daughter-in-law Dhapu (24), and their 6-month-old daughter were identified as the victims. The infant's body had been fully burned, while the others had been half burned.

The cops identified a mutual quarrel among the family during the initial investigation. Poonaram's nephew is the primary suspect in the case, and he is suspected of murdering everyone.

Following the event, villagers gathered around the spot. The peasants were the first to call the cops.

Villagers Discover Burnt Family Bodies

When the villagers observed smoke rising from the house in the morning, they approached and discovered the four family members' burnt carcasses.

Poonaram's family farmed, and one of his sons, Revataram, worked at a stone factory in Ghevda village. Harish, the other son, lived separately with his family in Chamu village.

Around 5 a.m., locals reported spotting flames in Poonaram's house. They initially thought it was just a regular fire, but following closer inspection, they discovered the burning bodies.

It was discovered that the residence had been without power for ten days, causing the family to sleep outside.

The Range Inspector General (IG), Collector, Divisional Commissioner, and local politicians all came to the spot after the tragedy.

Questions Raised Over Police Handling

However, doubts were raised over the police's handling of the issue, with Osian MLA Divya Maderna slamming the Range IG for failing to make any arrests and instead simply shifting police station officers.

The issue was brought up in the Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly), and the government was supposed to respond at 5 p.m. The preliminary investigation revealed a growing suspicion of a family feud, as Poonaram's brother, Bheraram, felt Poonaram had murdered his kid.

When Bheraram accused Poonaram of the crime and Poonaram reportedly confessed, the hostility between the two brothers grew.

As a result, Bheraram's son, Pappu Ram, plotted to exact vengeance on the entire family, including his uncle.

More information and updates on the case may be revealed during the police department's scheduled press conference.
