In a deeply distressing incident, Bhargav Keshav, a 17-year-old student studying in class 11 and originally from Nandurbar district in Maharashtra, tragically took his own life inside his hostel room in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Kota.

Bhargav had been diligently preparing for the JEE examination in Kota for the past two months.

The incident occurred on Monday morning under the jurisdiction of the Jawahar Nagar police station. Shockingly, the boy's parents were also present in Kota to meet their son, but he tragically chose to end his life while they were away from the hostel room having breakfast.

The details were shared by Jawahar Nagar Circle Officer, DSP Amar Singh.

Upon their return to the hostel room with fruit juice for their son, the parents discovered the door bolted from the inside.

Alarmed, they immediately informed the caretaker who, upon looking through the window, made the grim discovery of Bhargav hanging from the ceiling fan using a bedsheet.

After the unfortunate incident, Bhargav Keshav was immediately rushed to the hospital, but the doctors declared him brought dead.

The reason behind this tragic decision is yet to be determined, as no suicide note was found in his room, and his parents have not provided any specific information, as mentioned by DSP Amar Singh.

Authorities are currently conducting an investigation to understand the circumstances leading to the untimely demise of Bhargav.

Case of unnatural death has been registered

Following the postmortem examination conducted later in the day, the police handed over the body of Bhargav Keshav to his grieving parents.

A case of unnatural death, under section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code (Cr. P.C.), has been registered to initiate a thorough investigation into the matter.

It is worth noting that this incident marks the 11th suicide by a coaching student in Kota this year, starting from January. Tragically, in the year 2022, a total of 15 coaching students had also lost their lives to suicide.
