Telangana Polls: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unveiled its initial list of 52 candidates for the forthcoming Telangana Assembly elections on Sunday.

T Raja Singh, whose suspension for making offensive remarks about Prophet Mohammed was lifted earlier today, has been nominated to contest from the Goshmahal constituency.

Sanjay Kumar Bandi will be the candidate for the Karimnagar constituency.

Rajender Eatala, a former member of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (now Bharat Rashtra Samithi), will be competing in two constituencies: Huzurabad and Gajwel.

Eatala is set to face off against his former party chief and Telangana Chief Minister KCR in the Gajwel constituency.

List also Comprises 3 Sitting Members of Parliament

The list also comprises three sitting Members of Parliament, namely former president Sanjay Kumar Bandi, Bapu Rao Soyam, and Arvind Dharmapuri.

Soyam is set to participate in the election from the Boath constituency, while Dharmapuri will be contesting from the Korutla constituency.

Telangana Assembly Polls Set for November 30

The candidate selection was confirmed during the Central Election Committee meeting of the BJP held on Friday, under the leadership of JP Nadda.

The meeting also had the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Home Minister Amit Shah.

The opposition party Congress had also unveiled its first list, featuring 55 candidates for the Telangana elections on October 15.

In this list, the state unit chief, Anumula Revanth Reddy, was nominated to contest from Kodangal, while former Telangana Congress president Uttam Kumar Reddy was chosen as the candidate from Huzurnagar.

The Telangana Assembly polls are scheduled for November 30, with the results expected to be announced on December 3.

Voting will take place at a total of 35,356 polling stations across the state, comprising 14,464 urban polling stations and 20,892 rural ones.
