The Uttar Pradesh Police has been given a clean chit in the Mafia Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf murder case. In the judicial commission's investigation report presented in the assembly on Thursday, the police have been absolved of any wrongdoing in the case.

The report stated that the murder of Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf was not premeditated and that the police couldn't prevent the incident. No negligence was found on the part of the police.

No Collusion Found Between State and Police System

According to the investigation report on the murder of Uttar Pradesh mafia and former MP Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf, there was no collusion between the state and the police system.

The five-member commission, headed by former Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court Dilip Babasaheb Bhosale, concluded that the murder was a pre-planned conspiracy that could not have been prevented.

Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf Were Murdered on April 15, 2023

The commission submitted its report to the government, following which the Yogi cabinet approved presenting the investigation report in the assembly.

Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf were murdered on April 15, 2023, while being escorted to Motilal Nehru (Colvin) Divisional Hospital in Prayagraj.

After reviewing statements from 87 witnesses, CCTV, and video footage, the commission found that the incident was sudden and that the police officers responded immediately and appropriately.

Why Did the Attackers Commit the Murders?

The commission also shed light on the attackers' motives, revealing that they targeted Atiq and Ashraf in the media presence to gain notoriety. The incident also resulted in the loss of crucial information for the police, including details about the terrorists' and ISI's connections with Atiq and Ashraf.

The commission's report clarified that there was no involvement of the police or the state apparatus in the murders of Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf.

The killings were premeditated conspiracies that could not have been prevented.
