Tata Motors is planning to bring a more powerful model of its premium hatchback Altroz, which will come with a turbo-petrol engine. Recently a testing model of Altroz has been seen. It is likely to be a turbo-petrol variant of the testing model car. In such a situation, it is expected that Tata Altroz can be launched in the market soon with a powerful turbo-petrol engine.
Reports say that the turbo version of Tata Altroj will get a The 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine, which generates 99 bhp power and 141 Nm torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox will be standard with this. Apart from this, the option of a new dual-clutch automatic transmission can also be found with this engine.
Altroz currently comes in 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine options. The petrol engine generates 85bhp power and 113Nm torque. At the same time, the diesel engine generates 89bhp of power and 200Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Tata Altroz has 5 variant, which includes the XE, XM, XT, XZ and XZ (O), comes in the competition of cars like Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20. The company also offers special customization packages for each variant. The starting price of this premium hatchback is Rs 5.29 lakh.
Apart from the Altroz Turbo, Tata is going to bring many more new cars to the Indian market. These include the 7-seater SUV Gravitas, the petrol model of the Harrier, the Hexa Safari Edition and the micro SUV HBX. All these cars will be launched in the coming months.
