The company's chief human resources officer Ravi Kairn Ramaswamy said that we have received information that there are reports that our factory located in Valuj, Maharashtra has to be closed by some members due to corona. He said that the construction unit in Waluj is working normally.

The shutdown has a bad effect on employees

He said that like the whole country, Bajaj Auto is also learning to live with the Coronavirus. We will try to keep our business operation normal, we are taking the necessary precautions. Another option is to shut down the factory with no work no pay rules. But due to this policy, our employees can be severely affected and there is a possibility of an impact on the supply chain.

First corona case came on June 6

The company said that Corona's case was not found in the factory from April 24 to June 6. The first Corona positive report in the company came on June 6.

The primary report states that at least 79 people were Corona positive. The correct report was revealed on Friday evening and the number of Corona positives was recorded around 140.

2 per cent vulnerable to corona

The company has said in a statement that in total more than 8100 people work in the Waluj plant. Currently, the number of 140 employees infected in the company is less than 2 per cent of the total capacity. They said that one of the reasons for getting Corona positive staff in the factory could also be that the lockdown is being relaxed in a systematic manner across the country. Due to this, the number of corona patients has increased in the country as well. Every year 500000 bikes are produced in Waluj. Standards and guidelines of the Ministry of Health are strictly followed in the factory premises. According to Bajaj Auto, the corona protocol is reviewed by the government official in the factory premises, the in-house staff of the factory makes it strictly adhered to.
