The Hyundai Creta was launched shortly before the lockdown and it received very good booking figures before launch. Not only this, it also drove Hyundai to the top last month in sales of utility vehicles (UV) last month. Hyundai Creta and Hyundai Venue have sold 12,833 units in March 2020. This figure is more than the 11,904 units of the S-Cross, Vitara Brezza, Eritiga, XL6 and Gypsy in the Maruti Suzuki SUV and UV lineup.
Earlier this month, Hyundai announced that it had sold 6,703 units since the launch of its new Creta until lockdown. In such a situation, Hyundai has increased its market share from 15.4 percent to 18.5 percent. During the launch of Hyundai Creta on 16 March, the company said that it had achieved more than 14,000 figures of bookings for 2020 Creta.
Not only this, Kia Motors has also surpassed Mahindra's UV lineup by selling 8,583 units on its own, the Kia Seltos and Kia Carnival. In the same month, Mahindra has sold 3,079 units. It has XUV 500, TUV 500, XUV 300, Scorpio, Nuvo Sport, Bolero, Alturas G4, Xylo and Marazzo.
Recently, Hyundai Motor India has partnered with Air Liquide Medical Systems Private Limited (ALMS), a company that produces ICU ventilators, to fight the coronavirus epidemic. Under this partnership, the company will manufacture and supply ventilators in Tamil Nadu and other states as well. Under this partnership, HMI and ALMS have targeted to build around 1000 ventilators in the first phase. Apart from this, Hyundai is helping the central and state government a lot in this bad time.
