He further said, "There is no big reason behind the current recession like services like Ola and Uber. I think we should find out the reasons for the recession before arriving at such conclusions. Studies are needed for this.
Prior Auto Industry was in a Better Condition
Shashank Srivastava further said that despite the presence of Ola-Uber in the last 6 years, the auto industry has performed well. He said, "Services like Ola and Uber have come up in the last 6-7 years. In the same period we have also experienced excellent experiences. What happened in the last few months only, that the recession started getting serious. I don't think we are standing here because of Ola and Uber. "
Citing the example of the US market, Srivastava said that Uber is the biggest taxi aggregator here, despite this there has been a tremendous increase in car sales in the last few years.
Srivastava said, "People can use public transport like Ola and Uber to go to office on weekdays, but still prefer their car for weekends with family. Still this pattern has not changed. "He said that for situations like slowdown in auto industry, lack of liquidity, tax and insurance rates are responsible.
Government Measures were not Enough
