There has been a ruckus in Sikh politics over crores of rupees donated by Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. He is being accused of the 1984 Sikh massacre. Meanwhile, there has been a big disclosure in the whole matter. He wrote a letter 10 years ago, dismissing the allegations against himself. This alleged letter has now gone viral.
It is being claimed that Amitabh Bachchan sent the letter to Akal Takht Jathedar in 2011 through Gurinder Singh Baba, a member of the then Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), a resident of Mumbai. In this so-called letter which went viral on the internet, Amitabh gave clarification on the charge of inciting the crowd for the Sikh massacre.
In fact, in 2011, the Punjab government sent an invitation to Amitabh Bachchan to attend the inauguration ceremony of the historic Khalsa Heritage Complex at Sri Anandpur Sahib, the birthplace of the Khalsa Panth. Having accepted this, he later denied that he did not want to cause any embarrassment in this historical gathering. After the meeting ended, he denied the allegations leveled against him.
Amitabh Bachchan had clearly written that he had relations with the Nehru-Gandhi family. They used to come to each other's house in every happiness and sorrow. The incident of 1984 anti-Sikh riots is always a blur and a dark chapter in the history of the country. He can never hurt the feelings of Sikhs, as his family has been telling him about Sikhs. He cannot even dream of hurting Sikh community. Allegations of inciting violence in 1984 are false.
Now this letter has come to the fore when 12 crore rupees have been donated by Amitabh Bachchan to Delhi Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee. Manjit Singh GK had also given a letter against Manjinder Singh Sirsa to Akal Takht in this regard. In this, he said that he has taken this donation against Sikh customs, because Amitabh Bachchan is anti-Sikh.
