Former Haryana Congress President Ashok Tanwar, who was close to Rahul Gandhi, may join Trinamool Congress in Delhi. Ashok Tanwar has called a meeting of his supporters at his 'Apna Bharat Morcha' office on South Avenue in Delhi. His wife Avantika Tanwar also attended it. Giving information, Avantika Tanwar said that Ashok has called a meeting of his supporters in Haryana. However, which party will Ashok Tanwar join? I cannot say much in this regard. But he has a meeting with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at 5 pm.
As Congress state president, Ashok Tanwar had a figure of thirty-six with former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Ashok Tanwar had a tussle with Bhupinder Singh Hooda over ticket distribution at the party in Haryana Assembly Elections 2019. Tanwar was upset with his supporters being cut off their tickets. Then Ashok Tanwar resigned from the post of state president of Haryana Congress and also left the party.
While in Congress, the figure stood at 36 with Ashok Tanwar and former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda. In the year 2016, during Rahul Gandhi's Kisan Yatra in Delhi, supporters of Ashok Tanwar and former CM had clashed. Then Ashok Tanwar also had an injury on his neck. Tanwar also accused Hooda supporters of attacking him. The matter also reached the Congress High Command. After this, the party also called for a report on this, but no action was taken against Hooda supporters.
Tanwar quit the party after getting upset over ticket distribution in the Haryana Assembly elections 2019. Campaigned against Congress and BJP in the election. Support to Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala in JJP. At the same time, in the 2019 elections in the Ellenabad seat, he supported Abhay Singh of INLD. In 2021 Ellenabad by-election also supported Abhay Singh.
While being an MP, in the year 2011, Ashok Tanwar also had a rift with the then Haryana Home Minister Gopal Kanda. The current power minister Ranjit Singh was also in Congress then. He belonged to Hooda camp. Ranjit Singh had commented on him, on which Ashok Tanwar supporters burnt Ranjit's effigy. In the 2019 assembly elections, Ranjit Singh had also accused Ashok Tanwar of not getting a Congress ticket for the Rania assembly seat. After this, leaving Congress, Ranjit Singh contested as an independent and won.
