CM Ashok Gehlot has launched a political attack on the death anniversary of former PM Indira Gandhi, by digging at the Central Government and the BJP. Gehlot said that unfortunately today such people are now in positions of power in the country, who ask what Congress has done in 70 years. People didn't know what electricity was when the country got independent, he said.
There were no schools, no colleges and no medical facilities at that time. Modern India, modern Rajasthan and modern Jaipur are the gifts of Congress. Indira Gandhi and the great leaders of Congress have sacrificed their lives for the unity and integrity of the country. He further said that the ideology of Congress is the ideology of the country.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot virtually waved off 'Indira Run for Women' and BILE Rally from CMR on the death anniversary of former PM Indira Gandhi from Jaleb Chowk in Jaipur. 2000 women, girls and students participated in the run. During this, Gehlot addressed that the great leaders of Congress kept the country once more united.
Gehlot said that Indira Gandhi made a separate country Bangladesh by splitting Pakistan into two. Then crores of refugees came to India, who were accommodated in refugee camps. I also had the opportunity to do some service work there. Indira Gandhi did not allow Khalistan to be formed. She sacrificed herself, but as she said, every drop of her blood was useful for the country. She claimed she realised it a day before she died. That's when she declared in Odisha that she doesn't care if she dies.
Gehlot said that the ideology of Congress is the ideology of the country. Leaders like Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Indira Gandhi, Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad and Bhimrao Ambedkar gave equal rights to everyone in the Constitution. People of all religion-caste, language-dialect, ideologies live in India. Despite this, this country is a country of unity in diversity. This was possible only because of our great leaders. We have to take everyone along. The Chief Minister called upon the Congressmen and those participating in the run to follow the path shown by Indira Gandhi and work with the unity and strength of the country.
