In the midst of the Corona crisis, while many companies are retrenchment or cutting employee salaries, IT giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has reported relief. TCS has decided to give jobs to 40 thousand freshers from campuses across the country.

Last year too, the company had hired almost the same number of freshers. This year, the recruitment of the company is important in the sense that in the midst of the Corona crisis, all the companies facing financial crisis are getting laid off. But TCS has not cut any of its recruitment plans.

Doubling in jobs in America too

Not only this, TCS has decided to double the campus placements in the US to at least 2,000 this year. TCS CEO Rajesh Gopinathan recently said, "In view of the positive demand environment, the company is slowly starting the lateral hiring. Due to the uncertainty of COVID-19, it was stopped, but we will follow all our previous plans.

Profit has come down

Significantly, according to the results released last week, TCS's profit in the April-June quarter has fallen by 13 per cent to just Rs 7,049 crore. This is largely due to the damage to the functioning of the corona.
