After the resignation of Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar on Tuesday, the political picture in Maharashtra seems to be getting clearer. Uddhav Thackeray was elected leader during the Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress alliance meeting held in the evening. After this, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari called a special session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. The newly elected MLAs are being administered the oath of office and secrecy during this session beginning at 8 am.
During the special session of the 14th assembly, NCP MP Supriya Sule met Ajit Pawar and party MLA Rohit Pawar at the entrance of Vidhan Bhavan. Sule said that this day brought with him a lot of responsibility. NCP leader Ajit Pawar said on Wednesday that he will remain in his party and there is no reason to create confusion about it. Ajit Pawar said that I have nothing to say right now, I will speak when the time is right. I had also said earlier that I am in NCP and I will remain in NCP. There is no reason to cause confusion. On going to NCP president Sharad Pawar's residence late on Tuesday night, Ajit Pawar said that it is my right to meet my leader.
NCP leader Ajit Pawar, Chhagan Bhujbal, Congress leader and former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, Prithviraj Chavan, former Assembly Speaker Dilip Valse Patil (NCP) and Haribhau Bagde (BJP) were among the first sworn-in nominees. Devendra Fadnavis was asked whether it was a mistake to form a government with Ajit Pawar? Then he replied that I will say the right thing at the right time, do not worry.
NCP leader Nawab Malik said that Ajit Pawar finally admitted his mistake. This is a family matter and Sharad Pawar has forgiven him. His stature in the party is huge and his position in the party has not changed. After this statement by Nawab Malik, it is clear that Ajit Pawar will be the Deputy Chief Minster because in earlier meetings, his name was decided from NCP quota for the post of Deputy Chief Minister.
