Railway's target – 102 Vande Bharat trains will run till 2024
Railways have set a target of derailing 102 Vande Bharat Express trains by 2024. To fulfil this target, tendering work has started for all 102 trains. Of these, the tender for 44 trains has been given in January itself.
The private company that won the tender, Medha Servo Drives, is manufacturing these train sets in collaboration with the three coach factories of the Railways. With the opening of tender for all the remaining 58 trains, the Railways hopes that this process of tendering will also be completed at the earliest so that the new private partner can start work soon.
Although Medha Servo will also tender for these 58 new trains, Railways expects that this time more private companies will show interest in this tender than before.
