IPL 2021 to Resume with MI vs CSK on September 19: BCCI

BCCI has announced the schedule of IPL Phase 2. The remaining 31 matches of IPL 2021 will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 19 September.

BCCI has announced the schedule of IPL Phase 2. The remaining 31 matches of IPL 2021 will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 19 September. The first match of Phase-2 will take place on 19 September between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. All 31 matches will be played within 27 days. Of this, 13 will take place in Dubai, 10 in Sharjah and 8 in Abu Dhabi.

During this, there will also be 7 double headers (2 matches in a day). Talking about the timing, the first match will be played from 3:30 pm Indian time and the second match in double header will be played from 7:30 pm. The last match of the league stage will take place between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals on 8 October. The knock-out rounds will start from October 10. The matches of Qualifier-1 will take place on October 10, while Eliminator on October 11 and Qualifier-2 on October 13. The final will be played on October 15 in Dubai.

IPL 2021 postponed due to Coronavirus:

Meanwhile, the IPL Franchisees are also confident that BCCI will engage in positive discussions with foreign boards and players will be available for the remaining matches. Let us tell you that IPL was organized in India in April-May amid the second wave of Coronavirus. However, it had to be postponed in early May after a spike in coronavirus cases inside IPL's bio-bubble.

So far 9 players pulled out of IPL Phase 2:

England has already refused to allow its players for the second phase of the tournament. In such a situation, Delhi Capitals' Chris Woakes, Tom Curran have opted out of the league. There is suspense over the playing of Marcus Stoinis. However, Shimron Hetmyer will be available. Apart from Smith, Pat Cummins, Jos Buttler, Eoin Morgan, Jonny Bairstow, Sam Curran, Moeen Ali, Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan have already withdrawn from the league.

Delhi Capitals team tops the points table:

The team of Delhi Capitals is currently at the top of the league. CSK is second and Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is at number three. Dhoni's team could not reach the IPL playoffs last year. This time the fans will have high hopes from Dhoni. Mumbai Indians are at number four in the points table.
