Dr. Pratibha Panpatil of Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation said, 'A person returning from South Africa to Dombivli has been found to be Covid positive. To find out whether he is 'Omicron' positive or not, his samples have been sent for genome sequencing. After this, the officials are preparing to conduct a Covid test of the person's family as well.
Dr. Panpatil further said, 'He had traveled from South Africa to Delhi and Delhi to Mumbai. He has been kept in the isolation room of the Municipal Corporation. His brother's investigation report has come negative. The report of the rest of the family is to come today. The good thing is that after returning from South Africa, the person has not come in contact with anyone. The first case of the Omicron variant was confirmed in South Africa. The condition of all 69 elderly people infected at Matoshree old age home in Khadawali near Padgha of Bhiwandi, Thane is normal. All have been admitted to Thane District Hospital for treatment.
