President Ram Nath Kovind's visit to Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir will begin today. This year, his majesty will celebrate Dussehra with the soldiers in the Dras area of Ladakh.

The President now seems to be breaking the tradition when he usually attended Dussehra celebrations every year in the national capital. According to an official notification issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President will be on a two-day visit to Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir on October 14 and 15.
On the first day of his visit to the Union Territory of Ladakh, President Ram Nath Kovind will visit Sindhu Ghat in Leh and will worship. These riverbanks are known for it's beautiful and natural landscapes. It is located near Shey village in Leh and hosts many cultural events with the barren mountains in the background, which are typical of the region.
The President will visit the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday evening and interact with Indian troops stationed at Udhampur, the Northern Command headquarters of the Indian Army. The city, which serves as the district's capital. It is a strategic transit point for the armed forces while traveling on National Highway 44.
President Kovind will visit Dras in Ladakh on Friday, October 15, and pay tribute to the martyrs of the 1999 Kargil War at the Kargil War Memorial. In fact, Dras has also been considered the gateway to Ladakh. It is famous for its high-altitude trekking way and tourist places. It is also a strategically important military point. Here, the soldiers of the Indian Army have to face rising altitudes and cold temperatures throughout the year to protect the Line of Control (LoC).
