The history of Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib, located near the Ravi river in the Narowal district of Pakistan, is about 500 years old. The distance from Lahore to Kartarpur Sahib is 120 km and it is about 7 km from the Indian border in the Gurdaspur area.
The governments of India and Pakistan had decided to build a corridor connecting Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur and the holy gurdwara located in Kartarpur, Pakistan. The foundation stone of the corridor was laid in 2018. The foundation stone was laid on 26 November in India and 28 November in Pakistan. After this, it was dedicated to the public on 9 November 2019 on the occasion of the Prakashotsav of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
