Discord in Rajasthan Congress is now coming to the fore. In the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday night, there was a fierce clash between the Gehlot government's senior minister Shanti Dhariwal and Education Minister, Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasara. Both the leaders had a fierce debate in the first cabinet meeting, then after the meeting was over, both of them came out and told each other a lot. The dispute increased so much that both of them even threatened each other. Seeing the growing confrontation, fellow ministers intervened and pacified the matter.
In the cabinet meeting called for the decision on the board examinations, many ministers went to the CM residence, while the Chief Minister was virtually connected to the meeting despite being in the CM residence. After discussing the main agendas of the meeting, the matter worsened when Dotasara was interrupted in the middle of Dhariwal during the discussion on political matters.
Congress State President Govind Singh Dotasra said in the meeting that Congress today launched a social media campaign demanding free vaccination, now every district level should submit a memorandum to the President, this campaign needs to be taken on the ground as well. As soon as Dotasara said this, Minister Shanti Dhariwal cut the point of Dotasara and said that what is the need of this, the work of the ministers is not to submit the memorandum.
When Dotasara objected to interrupting, Dhariwal also got agitated and said that I will keep my point. There was a lot of debate between both of them on this. The matter reached to us. Revenue Minister Harish Chaudhary and Transport Minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas intervened, but they did not listen.
Govind Singh Dotasara, angry with Shanti Dhariwal's interruption, complained to the Chief Minister that everything has happened in front of you. When the issue of party organization was talked about, the president was not even allowed to speak, action should be taken against such behavior. Dotasara agreed to leave the meeting, but the CM pacified him and asked him to complete his talk.
The Chief Minister asked both of them to remain calm but the dispute between the two started again. Dhariwal told Dotasara that whatever is to be spoiled, I have seen many presidents. It is said that the Chief Minister turned off the camera after seeing the heated argument between the two ministers. After the defense between fellow ministers, the matter calmed down for some time.
After the cabinet meeting was over, Dhariwal and Dotasara again clashed after coming out. This time it was louder and the voice was also louder. Seeing the ministers fighting openly, the security personnel and staff of the CM residence present there were also shocked. The fellow ministers got the two separated, otherwise, there could have been a scuffle.
After the meeting was over, Dhariwal told Dotasra that I am not bound to obey your orders. On this, Dotasara said that as long as I am the state president of the party, the orders will have to be obeyed. Till now everyone will have to obey what I order in the party, you are wearing the veils.
Dotasara told Dhariwal in a loud voice – You have been bragging for so long, you have not even taken a meeting till date in two and a half years in charge of Jaipur. Are you in charge? This attitude of yours is not good for the party, I will report it to Sonia Gandhi. I am considering age. On this Dhariwal again got upset and retaliated and said that I will see everything, I do not need to give knowledge, will you threaten me? When both the ministers started coming close, raising their arms while quarreling, the fellow ministers separated the two.
There has been a tussle between Dotasara and Dhariwal at the CM residence once before. In October 2020, there was a clash between Dhariwal and Dotasara over tickets for the urban body elections at the CM residence. The cabinet meeting and the kind of tension that followed is said to be unprecedented. There is a lot of discussion in the political circles about this quarrel between the two ministers.
