The monsoon session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly is going to begin today. Ahead of this special session of two days, a statement by Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Devendra Fadnavis has increased the stir in the politics of the state. Talking to reporters at Vasant Smriti Bhawan in Dadar on Sunday, Fadnavis said that Shiv Sena is not our enemy, there are ideological differences.
Fadnavis also said that not everything is permanent in politics. However, he has denied initiating any discussion with Shiv Sena. Fadnavis is taking an aggressive stand against the Maha Vikas Aghadi government in the state, but his stand on Shiv Sena has softened.
On this statement of the former CM on Monday, Shiv Sena MP and spokesperson Sanjay Raut said, 'We are not like India-Pakistan. Look at Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao, we are like them. Our (Shiv Sena-BJP) political paths are different but our friendship still stands. On Fadnavis's statement, BJP state president Chandrakant Patil said, "It is 100% true that BJP-Shiv Sena is not enemies, but it does not mean that they are going to form the government together."
On the possibility of BJP and Shiv Sena coming together, Fadnavis said, "We (Shiv Sena and BJP) have never been enemies. He was our friend and the people he fought against, formed the government with him and left us. Decisions are taken according to the circumstances.
Fadnavis further said that Shiv Sena fought the 2019 assembly elections with us, but after winning the elections, they joined hands with the same people (NCP and Congress) against whom we contested. Fadnavis said that central investigative agencies are investigating many cases in Maharashtra on the orders of the court.
Last month, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi. After the conversation between the two in private for half an hour, the discussion about BJP-Shiv Sena coming together has started. However, Uddhav Thackeray had told the media that they had private talks on the issue of the Maratha reservation. Even during that time, Uddhav had said that PM Modi is a little Nawaz Sharif, which cannot be talked to him alone.
This week NCP chief Sharad Pawar also met Uddhav Thackeray. During this, Cabinet Minister Jitendra Awhad, Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil and Aaditya Thackeray were also present there. Even after this, there were reports of a rift in the alliance.
Dismissing reports of closeness with BJP, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said, "The more rumours spread, the Mahavikas Aghadi alliance will get stronger." We do have some political and ideological differences, but we do meet when we come across each other in a public function.
