The country's capital Delhi has secured first place in the list of the most 'monitored cities' in the world. In this list, London is at second place and Chennai is at third place. Apart from this, India's financial capital Mumbai is also present at 18th place in this list. The special thing is that Delhi and Chennai have also left behind cities like New York of America and Shanghai of China in this list. Forbes India has posted this list on its official Twitter handle.
Technology site Comparitech has prepared this report based on data from 'surveillance cameras' (CCTV cameras) located 'per square mile' in major cities around the world. According to this report, Delhi tops the list with 1,826.6 CCTV cameras per square mile. London ranks second with 1,138.5 CCTV cameras per square mile. At the same time, Chennai is at third place in this list with 609.9 CCTV cameras per square mile. Mumbai ranks 18th in this list, with 157.4 CCTV cameras installed per square mile.
After this list came to the fore, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has also called it a matter of pride for Delhi. He wrote in his tweet, "It is a matter of great pleasure that Delhi has topped the list of cities with the most CCTV cameras per square mile, leaving behind cities like Shanghai, New York and London."
He also said, "I congratulate our officers and engineers for this achievement, who have achieved all this by working hard day and night in such a short time."
