Pune, the cultural capital of Maharashtra, is in the news after the heart-wrenching incident of gang rape. Here some people first kidnapped a 14-year-old girl, then made her a victim of gang rape several times for 48 hours at 5 different locations. When the girl's condition worsened, the poor sent her from Pune to Mumbai. The girl reached Chandigarh with a friend from here. Here the GRP recovered the girl and handed it over to the Pune Police. So far 14 people have been arrested by the Pune Police in this case. This includes a friend of the girl, two railway employees, and 11 autorickshaw drivers.
The girl is being treated at a hospital in Pune. Doctors say he is out of danger. The physical wounds may heal, but the mental trauma he has suffered may not heal for the rest of his life. The family members of the girl child are only saying that we are already upset, do not increase our trouble by talking to us. DCP Namrata Patil, the officer investigating the matter, told Dainik Bhaskar that this is really a matter of hair-raising.
DCP Namrata Patil said that the incident started at 10.30 pm on August 31. The girl's parents are extremely poor and have been working in a nursery in Pune for many years. At that time, without informing anyone, the minor left the house to meet his 19-year-old friend. She reached Pune station in an auto-rickshaw. After standing there for a long time, when her friend did not come, she started crying. Seeing her crying, an auto driver came to her. He asked the girl to go outside the station, her friend is calling her. The girl was upset and felt that the auto driver was saying the right thing. After this, he brought the girl outside and gave her water and a drink. The girl says that she felt dizzy as soon as she drank the water.
First of all, the driver raped the girl, who had brought her with him. After this, he called some more people, and then everyone took turns to carry out the cruelty. DCP Patil said that the victim kept clasping her hands in front of him while screaming, but the accused kept her locked in the room without clothes. After every few hours, a new person would come and rape the minor. The girl was constantly demanding clothes and food, but no one took pity on her. After the rape, the accused were also threatening her that if she told anything to anyone after going out, they would kill her.
The girl's father told that the girl is so scared that she just keeps crying while sitting in a corner. She is also unable to properly talk to the policemen who took the statement. She gets scared at the slightest sound and gets terrified seeing a man around her. The father told that the girl's dream was to grow up to become a big officer, but now everything seems to be coming to an end. She tells about going home again and again. After this incident, the parents are in a bad condition and they are only demanding justice. The father only said that I have full faith in the law. The law will give severe punishment to the accused.
The father told that the next morning after leaving home, he came to know that he was not at home. The phone was dialed on the girl's mobile, but it was switched off. He then reached the Vanavadi police station and lodged a missing report. The investigation started and after a few hours of effort and checking of CCTV footage installed outside the railway station, it became clear that the kidnapping of the girl took place from here. Namrata Patil told that first the girl was seen sitting in an autorickshaw.
The auto driver kidnapped the girl and raped her after taking her to a secluded place. He then called one of his friends and handed over the minor to him. After this, taking the girl to a hotel, three other people raped her in turn. The next day also in the same hotel, four more people made the victim a victim of their lust. Then the accused took the girl to a room and raped her several times there too. The 12 accused raped the girl at Vishrantwadi, Viman Nagar, Kondhwa, and some other places in Pune.
So far in this case Mashq Kanyal (27), Akbar Sheikh (32), Azharuddin Ansari (27), Noel Khan (24), Asif Pathan (36), Prashant Gaikwad (29), Rafiq Sheikh (32), Rajkumar Prasad ( 29), Golu (19) and four others have been arrested.
After her health deteriorated in Pune, one of the accused took the girl to Dadar in Mumbai by bus and handed her over to a railway worker posted at the ticket counter of the railway station. It is alleged that the railway employee also took him to the room and misbehaved with him and called his friend and handed him over. After this, both of them reached Chandigarh station on Tuesday by train. Seeing the girl in a serious condition there, some people of GRP got suspicious. After some brief interrogation, he was handed over to the project director Child Line.
Project Director ChildLine director Sangeeta Jand told that at first, they thought that the girl had run away from home. When he counseled the minor, the matter was revealed one after the other. After this, he took information from Pune Police, then it was found that a case of a missing girl has been registered there. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the team of Pune Police came by air and took the minor girl with them to Mumbai.
To nab the accused, the police searched more than 100 CCTV cameras installed outside and inside the Pune railway station for several hours. The girl's picture and auto-number were found in a camera. After this, the interrogation of one of the accused started after arresting him. Within a few hours, he confessed his crime and revealed the address of his other associates. All the 14 accused were produced in court. The court has sent him to 10-day police custody. DCP Patil says that we are also investigating the role of the owner of the lodge.
