A 9-year-old boy died when he fell into the elevator shaft from the fourth floor of a multi-storey building in Rayadurgam area of Hyderabad. Police say that the accident occurred due to the external safety grill of the lift not working properly. This is the third incident in Hyderabad of children falling into the elevator this year.
According to the police, the incident took place around 5 pm on Sunday evening at the Seven-storey TVS Lake View apartment in Panchwati Colony. Circle Inspector A Ravinder said, 'Dhanush, a 9-year-old boy, was playing in front of his apartment on the fourth floor. His sister was also with him at that time. At the time of the incident, Dhanush stepped into the lift but was not able to lift till then, so he fell into the shaft of the lift and later died on the spot by pressing under the lift coming down. '
Three children died so far
Police immediately reached the scene as soon as the information was received. Police has sent the body to the government hospital for postmortem. This is the third such incident in Hyderabad. In October, a 9-year-old girl was found trapped in an elevator in Hastinapuram North Extension Colony. In February, a 10-year-old child was trapped in the elevator grill in Balaji Nagar, he also died in the accident.
