Several high school students in North Korea have been given severe punishment for stealing squid while watching a game, US outlet Radio Free Asia (RFA) reported. Some people who brought the show in USB drives from across the border were shot and students who bought USBs were sentenced to life imprisonment.

7 students were caught watching a squid game

The report said that seven high school students in Chongjin city of North Hamgyong province were caught watching a squid game. The 109th Joint Command of Staff took strong action against them. They were sentenced to shoot, life imprisonment as well as 5 years of rigorous imprisonment. Apart from the students, the school principal, youth secretary, and teachers have also been punished. They have been dismissed from their posts.
