Earlier on 28 October 2018, the price of petrol in Delhi was Rs 80.05 per litre while the price of crude oil was around $ 81 per barrel at that time. Right now it is half of this. Diesel also jumped 17 paise to Rs 80.19. Diesel price reached Rs 80.02 yesterday. Delhi is the first state in the country where diesel is costlier than petrol.
In the international market, for most of the last 20 days, the prices of crude oil remained soft, but in the domestic market, its prices are continuously increasing. Currently, the price of Indian basket crude oil is hovering around $ 42 per barrel. But the prices of petrol and diesel have not decreased accordingly.
