In Kurukshetra district of Haryana, the police has arrested a man who was found to be a former international volleyball player for the drug trafficking charges. Police has recovered more than 1 quintals of sandalwood and 2 kg opium from him. The police are interrogating the arrested smuggler.

Kurukshetra district Superintendent of Police Aastha Modi said that Crime Branch-1 Inspector Mandeep Singh had received information that a man was going to supply large quantities of intoxicants. On the basis of this information, the crime branch stopped a car during blockade near the Bhakhra canal bridge.

When the police searched for that car, there were 3 black strips of black plastic on the back seat found. Apart from this, when the police opened the car's aegis, there were only 4 such strips. When the police examined all the canons, they found the intoxicants.

SP Aastha said that after weighing those cuttings, 1 quintal, 10 kilograms of Doda post and Chura pot were found. While 2 kg opium was also recovered from the bottom of the car's next seat. The police seized all the narcotics and arrested the car driver.

In the inquiry, the accused told that his name is Premvan Yogesh. he is a resident of Phulad village in Rajasthan. He revealed that he is a former international level volleyball player. He was in the army first and now in the Panipat refinery.

He told that he had married her 3 daughters. Because of that, there was a lot of debt on his head. To repay him, he started selling the intoxicant substance. He used to buy these addictive items from Rajasthan at a cheaper price, and sell them in Haryana and Punjab at higher prices. For the smuggling, he was coming towards Kurukshetra via inner roads instead of Main Road. But he got caught by the police.
