Netizens are praising a US Police Department campaign to find everlasting homes for stray cats and dogs. The department is actively seeking persons who are willing to accept new fur babies so that they can find their 'forever' homes. What has piqued people's interest is how they termed the effort Tender a "dating site" for stray animals.
The Brevard County Sheriff's Office in Florida posted about Tender on their Facebook page. They also detailed how Junny, the department's K9 member, came up with the concept.
"AT THE BREVARD COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE ANIMAL CARE CENTER, JUNNY NOW HAS A DATING SITE FOR HIS HOMELESS FRIENDS." America's Top Police Dog, K-9 Junny, will debut his fresh new dating site tomorrow night... Tender!! This site, however, is intended to locate "forever homes" for Junny's homeless buddies at the Brevard County Sheriff's Office Animal Care Center," the agency noted.
"Junny’s Tender Site’ is designed to find tender, loving, and caring homes for the dogs and cats in our Animal Care Center that have been with our team for an extended period!! Knowing that having a “forever home” is what every pet deserves, Junny decided he would launch “Junny’s Tender Site,” so that he could publish a fresh profile picture of one of his buddies every Saturday, nearly guaranteeing a perfect match for a new pet and owner!!" They also added. They also stated how the program would function in the following lines.
"Be sure to check it out and let's work together to make it the hottest match site out there!!!" they closed the message.
“Sheriff Wayne Ivey, you are amazing. Thank you for all that you do for the animals. And of course, the people!” wrote a Facebook user. “Oldies rock! We adopted our 9-year-old “cougar” last year and she is a seasoned human trainer!” posted another. “That is so nice all animals deserve a forever home. Thank you!” commented a third. “Sheriff this is wonderful. Boy, if I didn't love snow so much I'd move to Florida,” expressed a fourth.
