More than a dozen private schools in Shimla have agreed to reduce the fees raised during the Academic session 2019-20. The management class of private schools, which reached the Directorate of Higher Education on Thursday, agreed to reduce the fees.
Private schools have promised to adjust the deposited fees in the next installment. In the meeting presided over by Higher Education Director Dr. Amarjit Sharma, the fees structure was discussed in detail.
Several officers including Joint Director Dr. Sonia Thakur, Dr. Rakesh Bhardwaj, Dr. Pramod Chauhan, Dr. Chandreshwar Sharma were present in the meeting. The Director of Higher Education told the in-charge of private schools that strict action would be taken against those arbitrarily raising the fees.
Recognition of such schools can also be canceled. After this, private schools unanimously talk about reducing the fees. School management said that the fees will be reduced soon.
Directorate of Education will also be notified about this. The director said that all the private schools from the coming academic session must inform the Directorate before applying the fee structure.
During the meeting, private schools sought a moratorium on PTA formation till July 30. The director asked to complete the process of establishing PTA in July every year.
The Directorate of Education has ordered the schools of HRTC buses to be set up for the students to visit their schools themselves. The director said that the school management should keep a close watch on whether the condition of government buses is fine or not.
