Biden warns Putin, Will have to pay 'Heavy Price' for Invasion of Ukraine
Amidst the Ukraine crisis, there was a phone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Joe Biden which lasted for about an hour. During the conversation, tension was seen between the two leaders.
Information has been given by the White House, the office of the US President regarding the conversation. US President Joe Biden again asked the Russian president on Saturday to remove a gathering of more than 1,00,000 troops on the Ukrainian border, the White House said. Simultaneously, Biden warned Russia that if Russia invades Ukraine, the US and its allies will retaliate strongly and Russia will have to pay a heavy price for this.
US will continue to work with Ukraine on diplomacy
According to the information, Biden told Putin that the result of the attack would be "extensive human suffering" and the image of Russia would be tarnished. At the same time, Biden warned Putin that the US will continue to work with Ukraine on diplomacy but that the country is 'equally prepared for other scenarios'.
Amidst the Ukraine crisis, Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Joe Biden had a 62-minute phone discussion. The two leaders met after Biden's national security adviser warned, based on intelligence, that Russia could strike in the coming days, possibly before the end of the Winter Olympics in Beijing on February 20.
