Zimbabwe Level T20I Series after Winning over Bangladesh in Second Match

In the second match, the Zimbabwe team defeated Bangladesh by 23 runs to level the T20 series 1-1. Batting first, Zimbabwe's team scored 166 runs for 6 wickets. In reply, Bangladesh's team managed to score 143 runs in 19.3 overs.

Zimbabwe's team registered a stunning 23-run victory in the second T20I against Bangladesh on Friday. Host team captain Sikandar Raza won the toss and decided to bat first. Opener Wesley Madhevere played a brilliant half-century innings and laid the foundation for the team to reach the big score. He did single-handedly took the team to a good score.

Zimbabwe's innings:

Madhevere played an innings of 73 runs off 57 balls with the help of 5 fours and 3 sixes. Apart from this, Ryan Burl batted well in the lower order and scored an unbeaten 34. Playing this innings with the help of 2 fours and 2 sixes in 19 balls, Ryan took the team to the score of 166 runs. In reply, none of the batsmen could do anything special from the Bangladesh side. Shamim Hossain played the biggest innings of 29 runs while Afif Hossain contributed 24 runs. Five batsmen of the team could not even reach double digits. Luke Jongwe and Wellington Masakadza took 3 wickets each for Zimbabwe. Tendai Chatara and Muzarabani dismissed 2-2 batsmen each.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza said, "Today we managed to tick a lot more boxes than we managed yesterday. I was happy to make 166 with a young squad — it gave us confidence. We back ourselves to defend that total and Blessing (Muzarabani) was instrumental in our success. Now we must create a plan that brings us another victory on Sunday and a series victory."
